Salah satunya adalah dengan perintah lsusb.
Pastikan anda menjalankan update-sbids sebelum mencoba menemukan modem anda, agar informasi terbaru tentang ID USB device bisa ditambahkan ke database anda (Membutuhkan koneksi internet) :
sudo /usr/sbin/update-usbids
Contoh :

Selanjutnya mulai kita cari informasi tentang modem kita dengan perintah lsusb :
sudo lsusb

Dari contoh diatas, kita lihat bahwa Modem yang saya gunakan adalah Sierra Wireless. Gunakan nomor Bus dan Device untuk melihat hanya satu perangkat itu saja :
